Nominate a Nonprofit

Below are the criteria for nonprofit approval from Community Purse. We prefer to work with nonprofits that have been around for at least three years because we are not focused on helping start-ups. This is because we want accountability, professionalism, and sustainability from nonprofits. In addition, we want to be good stewards of our member’s donations.

 

  • A Community Purse nomination form may be submitted by any current member in good standing.
  • Chapters will verify the EIN (Employee Identification Number) on the IRS website and check that a form 990 has been filed by the nonprofit in the last 2 years.
  • Nonprofit should have a website.
  • Our primary focus is on local nonprofits that serve people.
  • Nonprofit should serve the local area. If possible, visit the nonprofit.
